The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Talent Development, the Learning and Development Specialist will drive the creation and delivery of impactful training programs that foster a strong culture of engagement and development at SAIT. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping a dynamic Learning Management System.
Working closely with other areas of Human Resources and strategic partners from across SAIT, you will ensure our learning strategies align with both organizational goals and strategic direction. In this dynamic role, you will design, develop, and lead engaging learning solutions, manage key communication networks, and support coordinated planning efforts to elevate performance and leadership practices across the organization.
The Role
Identify needs and make recommendations on the continuous improvements for training systems and processes, following through with development and evaluation of courses; Identify employee learning needs and create learning paths for key roles
Develop learning strategy and content for leadership, individual, and custom professional development workshops, and programs
Overall program management of key learning and development initiatives
Manage and administer learning and development tools, metrics and assessments
Act as subject matter expert on learning design and implementation for institutional learning projects.
Analyze training needs through needs-assessment process and identify performance improvement opportunities
Collaborate with department leads to design, develop, and maintain learning content; Contribute innovative approaches to the learning function
Facilitate learning solutions, circles and events
Research and advise on current on best practices and new research regarding learning and development. Conduct ongoing critical evaluations of learning materials and experiences
Assist periodic engagement survey activities including results analysis and execution of focus groups
Oversee mandatory training requirements and related LMS projects and resources
Qualifications & Experience
Postsecondary education in relevant area (Adult Education, Human Resources, Communications)
5+ years' experience in progressive learning and development roles
Experience in managing the development and delivery of training courses/programs, learning plans, learning management systems, competency assessments etc.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and experience using eLearning application/development tools and software.
Understanding of inclusive learning frameworks and applications
CTDP or CPHR is an asset

Salary range: $74,000 - $95,000
Paid Leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year
