Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for an individual wanting to join our Analysis & Evaluation team. Are you ready to be our Student Power Platform Developer and make an impact in our community?

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Analysis & Evaluation, the Power Platform Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand their requirements, build efficient applications, automate workflows, and integrate data sources. Additionally, the developer troubleshoots issues, fixes errors in code, optimizes solution performance, and stays updated with platform advancements to continuously enhance functionality and impact.

This position will be funded by the Venture for Canada Student Internship program. To qualify for this grant applicants must be either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee. They must also be enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian college or university.

WHAT IS THE ROLE

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications using Microsoft Power Apps to meet business requirements and streamline processes.
  • Design, test, and deploy applications incorporating user interfaces, workflows, and data integrations.
  • Identify, troubleshooting, and resolve technical issues related to Power Apps applications and integrations.
  • Maintain, update, and support Power Apps applications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Optimize applications for better performance, security, and compliance with best practices.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain Power Automate flows to enhance business process automation and system integrations.
  • Ensure applications are efficient, scalable, and provide user-friendly experience.
  • Stay updated with the latest Power Apps and Power Automate features, enhancements, and best practices to continuously improve application quality.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Qualifications & Commitment to Values

This position will be funded by the Venture for Canada Student Internship program. To qualify for this grant applicants must be either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee. They must also be enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian college or university.

Formal Education and Experience

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee.
  • Enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian college or university.
  • Actively working towards a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field (2nd year or higher).
  • Proficiency in Power Apps development, including Canvas Apps, Model-Driven Apps, and Power Automate.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, and data integration.
  • Skilled in maintaining documentation for knowledge sharing.
  • Knowledge of best practices for app performance optimization and security within the Power Apps platform.
  • Knowledge of Power BI is an asset
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus.

Working Conditions

This position is fully remote.

This position will foster a collaborative work culture between the Analysis & Evaluation team.

Flexibility of the working week is inherent in this position. Flexibility to work a combination of weekdays and weekends may be required, with a focus on work-life balance.
