Position: Warehouse Lead

Department: Abbotsford AHL & Abbotsford Centre

Reports to: Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Lead will support the food & beverage warehouse operation at Abbotsford Centre before, during, and after all events. This includes leading a team of Food Runners to ensure all products are received, stored, and delivered to the internal customers at the right time and in accordance with company policies. This is a part-time, hourly position.


A typical shift includes

  • Ensure timely and efficient deployment of products to all internal distribution points
  • Ensure transfers to external departments are accurate and complete
  • Verify product received from vendors is accurate and meets quality standards
  • Delegate daily workload to Food Runners
  • Assist with daily and monthly inventory records and perform inventory audits and counts when required
  • Contact vendors regarding product/delivery issues, missing items, etc.
  • Responsible for maintenance of multiple logs
  • Ensure departmental sanitation standards are maintained and workspace is clean, safe, and organized
  • Perform administrative support for department (i.e. pairing invoices and P.O.s)
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years' work experience in an arena, hotel, casino or similar environment is an asset
  • Must be able to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays with varying start times
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 35 lbs
  • Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
  • Previous experience working in a team lead or supervisory role
  • Proven time management skills, with the ability to effectively establish and execute priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Micros POS systems and inventory database applications
  • Team player with a strong customer service focus and the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels
  • Proactive self-started with excellent on-the-spot problem solving skills
  • Strong culinary product knowledge
  • Strong administrative skills with a demonstrated attention to detail
