Working towards a world free from cancer, BC Cancer has a mandate that covers the entire spectrum of cancer care, from prevention and screening to diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.
BC Cancer provides a comprehensive cancer control program for the people of British Columbia in partnership with regional health authorities to deliver a range of cancer services, which include prevention, screening and early detection, diagnosis and treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation, and palliative care. It operates six regional cancer centres in Surrey, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, Abbotsford, and Prince George, along with two research centres that conduct research investigating the causes and cures for cancer.
The Breast Tumor Group Chair, who will also fulfill the role of the Breast Tumour Group Quality Lead, will provide leadership and oversight for the Breast Tumor Group committee and work with its provincial members, BC Cancer Tumour Group Council, and BC Cancer Leadership to develop processes and strategies to ultimately improve patient care and improve the outcome of all patients with cancer. The Chair and Quality Lead will oversee the Breast Tumour Group committee work and provide strategic oversight on issues related to relevant oncology research, quality assurance and improvement, and outcomes evaluation work. The Chair and Quality Lead will also promote and facilitate access to and analysis of tumour-site specific data and oversee the development of evidence-based pathways across the spectrum of cancer care.
