Reporting to the Director, Provincial Programs, this role will support key initiatives within the Provincial Programs Community Oncology Network. This role will predominantly work remotely, however, the successful candidate is expected to live within the community of one of the existing regional centres. Due to the nature of the role, the ability to travel is also required.

The Project Manager I leads and co-ordinates all aspects of the current projects undertaken by the department. The role will ensure the deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as identified in the project plan. The Project Manager I will identify and track metrics as they relate to the project deliverables. The role will provide consultation, guidance and support to designated project staff, contractors and stakeholders.

What you’ll do

• Establish detailed project charter, plan an objective to outline timelines and project deliverables. Execute project plan according to project methodologies, ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components, consult with stakeholders as needed and ensures readiness for project implementation.
• Track project progress according to project plan and identified metrics. Monitor and report on the status of projects and major barriers encountered. Make recommendations to Director regarding projects scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome. Implement or contribute to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in the development and monitoring of project budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resource constraints and uses best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
• Provide leadership by giving advice or guidance in situations that require interpretation and judgment.

What you bring

Qualifications:

• A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline with a minimum of five (5) year’s recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
• Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
• Experience or working knowledge of population and public health is key to the success of this role.

• Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community.
• Computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications.
• Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
• Support team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
• Work collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
• Have commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
• Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Regular, Part-Time (0.60 FTE)

Salary Range: $88,900 - $127,923. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.

Location: This role will predominantly work remotely, however, the successful candidate is expected to live within the community of one of the existing regional centres.

Hours of Work: 3 days a week, Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1600; with days of work subject to mutual agreement between the candidate and the Community Oncology Network team.
