Description

The Christmas Kettle Driver is primarily responsible for securing and transporting Christmas Kettle Donations on a daily basis and for interacting in a pleasant way with volunteers and host locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the daily delivery and pick-up of kettles to/from sites, ensuring the security of donations
  • Coordinates with daytime staff to respond to daily changes in pick up plan.
  • Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with kettle sites, addressing conflicts/issues as they arise.
  • Perform check-ins through locations ensuring the equipment is working properly.
  • Host kettle location and engage with public to encourage donations, if needed.
  • Relief kettle workers during break times, if requested,
  • Positively represents the salvation army and reflect its mission and core values
  • Manage inventory and replenish Kettle supplies when low; provide maintenance to Kettles and supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a valid Class 5 or higher BC Driver's License
  • A current Drivers Abstract will be required
  • Various availability Monday thru Saturday

Education/Certifications:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent

Experience:

• No Prior Experience Required

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • A clean drivers abstract

HOURS:

  • Part time, Temporary, Monday to Saturday
  • Hours: Some mornings, afternoons and also evening 10:00am - 12:00pm and 5:30pm - 8:30pm, fluctuating schedule-flexibility will be required at times
  • November 13h, 2024 - December 24th, 2024
