Job Title: Security Professional
Location: Chiliwack, BC
Type: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour
Shifts: Friday, Sunday & Saturday
Shift Hours: 0700-1500; 1500-2300; or 2300-0700

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Professional to join our team in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the facility, staff, and visitors. This position involves both indoor and outdoor duties, including long patrols across the facility and grounds. You will be expected to maintain a high level of customer service and demonstrate excellent access control skills. The ideal candidate will have strong communication abilities, a keen eye for security, and a commitment to upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Access Control: Greet and screen all visitors and employees entering or exiting the facility. Ensure that proper security protocols are followed, including signing in/out and issuing access passes.
  • Physical Requirements: Conduct long walk patrols throughout the facility and outdoor areas, monitoring entrances, parking lots, and perimeter fences. This may involve standing and walking for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to staff, visitors, and vendors by answering inquiries, assisting with directions, and addressing concerns in a professional and approachable manner.
  • Incident Reporting: Document and report any security incidents, unusual activity, or safety hazards promptly, ensuring that all relevant details are recorded accurately for future review.
  • Emergency Response: Serve as the first point of contact for emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and other safety-related situations. Respond swiftly and effectively according to established protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse team and management to ensure smooth operations and a secure working environment.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of security inspections, incident reports, and access control logs for compliance purposes.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors and conduct long walking patrols in all weather conditions.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle incidents calmly and professionally.
  • Must have a valid British Columbia Security License.
  • Must be at least 19 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent/GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • 1-2 years of experience in security, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
