The Department of Geriatrics in Fraser Health is seeking a Geriatrician to join a diverse group of geriatricians and care of the elderly physicians throughout Fraser Health. Our hospitals are affiliated with the University of British Columbia and offer opportunities for clinical practice, as well as teaching and academic research.

Maple Ridge is one of the fastest growing family-oriented regions in the BC’s Lower Mainland, surrounded by natural beauty with its panoramic vista of mountains, rivers, and forest. Located approximately 40 km from Vancouver, it lies between the Fraser River and Golden Ears mountains and includes boundless year-round outdoor recreation, including hiking, fishing, golfing, biking, and more. Ridge Meadows Hospital is a community hospital with primary and secondary services.

The successful candidate will join a group of geriatricians in building a new, highly anticipated and sought-after inpatient geriatric service at Ridge Meadows Hospital, in addition to joining an already active outpatient practice at a specialized interdisciplinary geriatric team in the Primary Care Network. This is a newly funded part time to full time permanent position (0.8 – 1.0 FTE, negotiable) and involves consultative inpatient activities at Ridge Meadows Hospital and ambulatory practice through the Primary Care Network. There is no expected weekend or evening call. The successful candidate will be expected to join our current geriatricians in the Fraser North region and contribute to academic and teaching components of the Service. There is also the opportunity to work on a part-time basis or in conjunction with other nearby communities.
