Main Purpose and Function
The SAP BTP Integration suite specialist will be responsible for maintenance of SAP system landscape in a complex SAP environment. This position is responsible for various aspects of SAP System including performance and architecture and provides support and advice on associated technical strategy setting. This role will work with both SAP and non-SAP Teams to help build and maintain the SAP Platform to meet the needs of the business. SAP BTP Integration suite specialist is responsible for actively supporting and/or leading complex SAP system and infrastructure projects. This individual will work with RISE with SAP, ECC, BW, SRM, PI/PO, NetWeaver Portal, Solution manager, Gateway Fiori, Business Objects, and other SAP systems in addition to the SAP BTP.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and solution architects to gather integration requirements and design innovative and scalable solutions using SAP BTP.
  • Utilize your extensive experience in Integration Suite ,SAP PI/PO to design, develop, and implement integration scenarios, both on-premises and in the cloud, leveraging SAP integration suite experience.
  • Leverage your expertise in SAP CPI to create and manage integration flows, APIs, and connectors that facilitate data exchange between diverse systems and platforms.
  • Utilize your deep understanding of SAP Integration Suite to design and implement integration scenarios that span various SAP and non-SAP applications, databases, and technologies.
  • Perform comprehensive testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of integration solutions to ensure data integrity, reliability, and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with fellow developers to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and integration design principles.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in SAP CPI, SAP Integration Suite, and cloud integration technologies, actively proposing enhancements to integration strategies.
  • Mentor junior developers, foster a culture of knowledge sharing, and contribute to the team's continuous skill development.
  • Document integration designs, development processes, and configurations thoroughly to facilitate maintenance and knowledge transfer.


Minimum Position Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7 years of PI/PO or related experience
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP S/4, BTP, BW, SRM, MDM, PI/PO, NetWeaver Portal, Solution manager, Gateway Fiori, Business Objects, and other SAP systems, SAP Fiori Administration experience, SAP PO/PI Administration experience, S/4 Hana and HDB experience, SAP Success Factors experience are strongly preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • A Police Record Check is a requirement of this position. A clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good understanding of SAP technical platform and demonstrated technical knowledge of UNIX and general system operation functions
  • Considerable knowledge of SAP database, data, and table structures
  • Proven ability to act as an internal consultant to make technical recommendations based on understanding of SAP business processes and data
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and response to requests in a timely manner
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of SAP Bolt-on and supporting technologies (eg. Epiuse, ReadSoft)
  • Thorough working knowledge of current trends in SAP related products and solutions (eg. ECC, Fiori, S/4HANA, PO, Success Factors, Business Intelligence).
  • Demonstrated operational and project management skills: results focused, team oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of office productivity tools (e.g. Windows, MS Office, MS Project, Visio, etc.) and experience with Agile development and the use of tools such as Azure DevOps (Visual Studio Team Services) would be an asset
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to handle business critical and sensitive information
  • Possess continuous improvement and continuous learning mindset

Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work remotely 1 - 4 days a week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.
