Candidates are invited to apply for the full-time position in Tuxedo Villa, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Reporting to the Director of Care; the Unit Coordinator, or Clinical Coordinator, assists with clinical supervision and programs impacting on delivery of care, including but not limited to, Orientation, In-service education, Infection Control and Continuous Quality Improvement.
Tuxedo Villa is seeking to fill a 1.4 FTE comprised of two individuals sharing the rotation on evenings and weekends to contribute to a strong and growing culture with clinical oversight.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and implementing annual education plan to staff
Attend and participate in committee meetings
Provide frontline presence on the units to support, evaluate and better understand quality and educational opportunities
File review of assessment applications for long term care from Home and Community Care
Identify gaps in training and education and develop solutions
Adheres to established policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, and environment and infection control.
Other duties as deemed necessary for operational requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Registered Nurse/ BSCN preferred
MNU Registration
RN registration preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical issues for geriatric residents, infection control, principles of adult education and Continuous Quality Improvement.
Knowledgeable in principles and philosophy of long-term care.
Previous long-term care experience and knowledge preferred
Familiarity and understanding of electronic health record systems i.e. PCC, RAI/MDS, RUGS, E-MAR, POC tablets - asset
Knowledge of LTC industry regulatory requirements and current Best Practices - asset
Ability to work independently and be self-directed
Excellent written and oral communication
