Title: Urban Patrol Officer

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Salary: $18.20/hour

Schedule: Casual

The Urban Patrol Officer will intervene when alerted to any concerns/violations bringing forward any matters of behavior concerns and/or issues that relate to parking enforcement and communication services at Winnipeg Parking Authority. Ensuring all policies and procedures are followed in accordance to policies set forth.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Have thorough knowledge of all parking regulations, by-laws and procedures and enforce them through the issuance of a Parking Offence Notice (PON) in accordance with the policies of the Winnipeg Parking Authority.
  • Conduct daily patrols of assigned routes and surface lots, issuing citations and managing mobile enforcement areas.
  • Remain current on restrictions, enforcement requests, events, and signage modifications affecting parking regulations.
  • Report and document anomalies such as stolen or abandoned vehicles, completing incident reports as needed.
  • Provide exemplary customer service, ensuring accuracy in citations and photographic documentation.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with urban patrol, surface lot, and officer error reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Maintain precise records of forms, permits, and restrictions, and file accident reports as required.
  • Adhere to professional standards of dress, ensure operational readiness of equipment, and manage wireless connectivity, while responding to patrol requests efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must have a G Driver's Licences
  • Must be at least 25 yrs for insurance purposes
  • Works in both indoor and outdoor environments. Exposure to all climate conditions, including cold and heat.
  • High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience
  • Physically capable of standing or walking for long periods, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 20 kilograms.

Skills Required:

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the parking enforcement industry.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
  • Must maintain a professional appearance.
