JOB PURPOSE

The Social Worker - Operational Stress Injury Clinic (OSI Clinic), is responsible for working within an interdisciplinary team to provide tertiary level evidence based mental health services to Veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, and active and retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The mandate of an OSI Clinic is to provide comprehensive assessments and treatment to eligible individuals who have OSI-related mental health issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Social Work
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Social Worker - Operational Stress Injury Clinic is responsible for:

  • Assessing clients and developing and implementing treatment plans
  • Developing and facilitating therapeutic interventions for individual and groups
  • Coordinating services and advocating for clients
  • Providing emergency /crisis intervention/stabilization services
  • Participating in interdisciplinary care planning
  • Maintaining clinical records and documentation
  • Building relationships with critical stakeholders in government and the community
  • Responding to community needs and participating in capacity building initiatives
  • Facilitate use, interpretation and integration of Client Reported outcome Measurement System (CROMIS) into Clinical/Treatment sessions
