Salary $20.69 - $26.09 per hour ($34,958 - $44,093 per annum, 32.5 hours per week). This is a 0.5 FTE term position so annual salary will be pro-rated to $17,479 - $22,046 (16.25 hours per week).

Job Summary
The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders is one of ten units that make up the Faculty of Health. The School offers nationally accredited master's degrees in both audiology and speech-language pathology with options for both thesis and project-based degrees and which sees applicants from across Canada and internationally. Reporting to the Administrative Manager, the Clinical Education Assistant provides administrative support to the two Academic Coordinators of Clinical Education.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administratively support student practicum site recruitment and planning, which includes tracking and filing placement documentation, preparing letters, and assisting with the annual revision of the practicum handbook.
  • Ensure practicum students have submitted all required documentation, following up as necessary.
  • Manage database and schedule of clinical fieldwork education agreements to new and existing agreement holders, as required, including distribution of agreement to site contact, receiving signed agreements, forwarding to the Faculty of Health Dean's Office, and tracking progress of agreement through Dalhousie signatory process.
  • Liaise with Risk-Management Coordinator, Financial Services, for issuance of Certificates of Insurance for student placements.
  • Support faculty with the delivery of all in-house clinics such as the audiology clinic practicum and the speech-language clinic, which involves maintaining client/patient files, booking appointments, and entering information in Blueprint software.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Business/Administrative Professional/Health Administration diploma with approximately two to three years' related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, be highly organized and prioritize work.
