Kent will be hosting a job fair for our locations in the Halifax Metro Area (Halifax, Dartmouth Crossing, Russell Lake, Lower Sackville, Metro Operations Centre) on April 4th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at 225 Chain Lake Drive, Halifax, NS (Kent Halifax). We are looking for candidates for various positions, including Department Manager (Lumber Yard), Department Manager (Plumbing & Electrical), Professional Sales, Sales Floor Associate, Lumber Yard Associate, Garden Centre Associate, Seasonal Contract positions (starting April to August, 2025) , and more.

Responsibilities
- Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
- Clarify and understand customers' needs and take them to the best solution(s) for their projects.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
- Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions
- Produce quotes, material lists and follows up
- Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service
- Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently.
- Continually learn about products and market conditions
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and team player
- Sales and customer service experience
- Possess a high level of attention to details
- Ability to lift 55 lbs.
- Ability to workdays/evening/weekends (rotating shifts)
- Ability to learn and operate the applicable computer system (D365) used to process orders
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent considered an asset
