Job Summary & Key Responsibilities | NURS 5542.03: Mental Health & Substance Use Disorders and Therapeutic and Recovery-Oriented Practices - Winter 2025 This 3-credit course examines Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders across the lifespan. Knowledge and cultural responsiveness to address complex situations and comorbidities across diverse populations will be explored. Trauma informed care and adverse lived experiences will be analyzed along with client empowerment, respect of choice and integration of recovery-oriented practices. FORMAT: Lecture FORMAT COMMENTS: In Person and Synchronous Online This appointment runs from January 1 - April 2025, and the academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Graduate Studies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Development of teaching and learning activities related to the course • Delivery and co-ordination of the course • Assessment and evaluation of student learning • Use of Brightspace for course delivery • Responding to student queries about coursework • Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services • Participation in course discussions within the program • Develop and administer examinations • Submission of grades • Follow up with students as necessary |
Qualifications/Requirements of Position | Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, and be licensed to practice in Nova Scotia . A strong clinical background in the relevant field along with prior teaching experience would be a asset. PhD preferred. |
Salary Range/Pay Rate | Per CUPE Collective Agreement |
