The Palace Home is located in Alexandria, ON is looking for a Attendant to join our team! The Attendant directly reports to Resident Program Coordinator and will work with our home directly to serve our residents.

The day to day duties of an Attendant will be a combination of both team coordination and individual support. Basic duties will include meal preparations, everyday medication procedure for our residents, cleaning duties and other required tasks. Ensuring safety for everyone, the Attendant must make sure to follow and carry out cleaning and sanitization procedures in the home.

As an Attendant, your major responsibilities will include:

  • Build excellent relationships with residents, employees, and all other stakeholders of the home by promoting the Resident's bill of rights.
  • Act as a promoter for our Home by showing all our efforts and excellent customer service ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Assist our residents and their family members by answering their questions through phone, in-person and solve their queries.

  • Coordinate with physician and nurses, providing medication and treatments to our residents in the proper and timely manner.

  • Maintain proper documentation of residents' filings, and record time to time information for future references ensuring confidentiality.

  • Follow specific procedure to perform routine tasks which will include cleaning duties, replenishing supplies, laundry duties, food storage and serving, and other administrative duties.

An ideal successful candidate must have following qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma is required, a degree with Hospitality education, OHS, and food safety will be considered as an asset.

  • Passionate about caring for the needs of others.

  • Previous work experience working with the long-term care home or retirement home can be considered as an asset but not required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Completed or currently enrolled in Safe Food Handling course.

  • A completed TB skin test and a clear vulnerable sector check must be provided upon acceptance of an offer of employment.
