Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Nurse will play a crucial role in providing high-quality resident care and ensuring the well-being of the residents.

What You'll Be Doing:
As a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for the assessment and planning of resident needs, delivery of skilled procedures, medication administration and documentation in accordance with quality management, legislative requirement and Sienna Senior Living standards.
How You'll Succeed:
1. Provide Resident Care and Services
• Utilizes sound nursing practice principals, the RN will ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Provides for nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures and provincial regulatory RN scope of practice requirements
• Collaborate with the resident or their substitute decision maker about their needs, preferences and health status at move in, changes in status and ongoing assessment as required
• Creates, develops and evaluates plan of care, goals of care with the resident or their substitute decision maker.
2. Provide Supervision, Assistance & Oversight
• Demonstrates a professional working knowledge of all equipment used in the delivery of nursing care.
• Assists with the development and implementation of policies and guidelines that reflect the philosophy of the Community.
• Utilizes sound nursing practice principals, the RN will ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of the resident
• Participates in conferences with the interdisciplinary team providing care to the residents
3. Provide Leadership and Guidance
• Acts as a role model for nursing team members performing within the professional guidelines of the College of Nurses of Ontario or the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives and in accordance with relevant legislation
• Participates and/or delivers in-services and education with other nursing and other team members as required
• Teaches RPN/LPN's and PSW/HCA's in relation to new skills
• Fosters team learning by sharing knowledge among peers, acting as a resource person in areas of specialization, and providing follow-up and support for educational programs offered.
Who you are:
• Bachelor of Science - Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent
• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse or the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Knowledgeable with nursing process, developments and current trends in the geriatric care field
• You are compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living with comfort, dignity, and respect
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
• Demonstrated administrative and computer skills with experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
• Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work in response to patient needs
• Proficiency in both official languages, French and English, is considered an asset
