Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the Supervisor, Culture Programs in the planning and implementation of Culture Programs by providing administrative support. Ensure that programs are being implemented consistently amongst the instructors and the program outlines are being followed while helping with the logistical organization and execution of the resident artist exhibition, poet laureate activities and/or school workshops. Able to provide excellent customer service and be a positive representative for the City of Mississauga programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Supervisor, Culture Programs in the administration and implementation of the resident artist exhibition, poet laureate activities and/or school workshops
  • Process school booking requests received via phone or email as required
  • Assist in material management for school workshops and instructional programs
  • Assist with delivery of program supplies and general cleanliness of arts studios
  • Promote program and provide information for progression in programs and school workshops
  • Assist in the development of new programs
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the Culture Programs events/workshops
  • Assist in distribution of program material to instructors (materials, class lists, etc.)
  • Contact program participants in regards to class cancellation and rescheduling
  • Provide quality customer service and act as a knowledgeable resource to parents and teachers of participants regarding Culture Programs
  • Assist with data entry using various templates and ActiveNet program

Skills and Qualifications

  • College or University diploma in the arts is an asset
  • Formal training in Visual Arts including programming and technical experience
  • Administrative work experience
  • HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development
  • Experience teaching/leading staff
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Arts knowledge needs to be current
  • Primarily community centre environment

Hourly Rate/Salary: 20.37 - 24.85
Hours of Work: up to 24 hours per week
Work Location: Living Arts Centre
