Position Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service and complying with all service standards set forth within Casino Operations. Under the supervision of Table Games Supervisors, Manager or Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the dealing of cards, paying and taking of bets, cash and chip transactions, security of assigned table, opening, and closing of tables. Also responsible for accepting fills, credits and notifying the Supervisor of Dealer errors. Positively contributes to an entrepreneurial culture that is nimble, energized growth oriented, to self-motivate and lead by example. Above all else, must be aligned with, and promote, Great Canadian's culture and philosophy of creating a great, memorable experience for our guests and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exceeds guest expectations by providing outstanding customer service.
  • Helps create an engaged work environment by choosing positivity and fun, recognizing excellent peer performance, and by caring about and supporting our colleagues every day
  • Participates in the implementation of the departmental strategic plans.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures for tables
  • Deals table games in accordance with departmental standards
  • Makes accurate chip exchanges and payouts
  • Follows procedures to maintain security of Tables assets during play
  • Takes control of table, including dealing out disruptive/disrespectful players
  • Comply with all government regulations, Internal Controls and Department & Company Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Communicates with Supervisor on table issues including responsible beverage concerns, responsible gaming, violations of table rules or other issues
  • Promotes Responsible Gaming
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, regulatory bodies, and employees
  • Contributes to a team of engaged colleagues who care passionately about the business, site operations, and delivering a great guest experience.
  • Contributes toward workplace health, safety, and wellness initiatives.
  • Anticipate operational and service issues before they escalate, trouble-shoot and resolve guest concerns before they are complaints.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed and assist other co-workers as needed

Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • People-focused and committed to service excellence
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a drive to succeed
  • High school diploma required
  • Customer service skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Second language an asset
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible with work schedule
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain registration as a Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
  • Must have a safety mindset for self and others.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required

Work Environment Considerations

  • Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position
