Overview


The Hockey Operations Manager plays a key role in overseeing all aspects of hockey operations to ensure the success and growth of the program. This position is responsible for managing marketing and sales initiatives, coordinating Thunderwolves Hockey Camps, overseeing the High Performance Training Center, and ensuring seamless Game Day Operations. Additionally, the role involves organizing corporate and community events, driving revenue growth, and managing budgets effectively. With a focus on enhancing program efficiency and fan engagement, the Hockey Operations Manager will contribute to the overall success and sustainability of the hockey program.

Responsibilities


  • Sell and manage advertising partnerships at the Fort William Gardens to generate revenue and secure key sponsorships.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, fan engagement, and revenue growth.
  • Oversee and execute revenue-generating initiatives, including Thunderwolves Hockey Camps, special events, gate revenue, and game day sales.
  • Ensure efficient game night operations to deliver a seamless and engaging fan experience.
  • Develop and manage the organization's annual budget, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals.
  • Monitor budget performance and adjust financial plans as needed to meet targets.
  • Create financial forecasts and models to project revenue and expenses for both short- and long-term planning.
  • Manage operational expenses to ensure cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Work with senior leadership to align financial strategies with long-term organizational goals.

Qualifications


  • Honours Bachelor of Commerce, Sports Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, youth programming, community recreation, operations management, and budget management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with experience in customer service, coaching, promoting youth programs, and sales.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; experience with Canva and Photoshop for digital marketing.
  • Adaptable, flexible, with the ability to effectively multitask and prioritize tasks.
