Cardiology Technologist, General Duty ECG SJHC (Job ID: 9242)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs ECG Tests which includes explaining procedures to patients and executing all aspects of the ECG test.
  • Completes documentation of ECG study, including details of the study and observations of the state of the patient.
  • Completes ECG requisitions and editing.
  • Ensures that all laboratory supplies are stocked and equipment is well maintained.
  • Maintains statistics on volume of patients seen.
  • Performs GXT (stress) tests, as well as setting up and scans holters, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure cuffs

Qualifications include:

  • Must be registered, or pending registration, with The Cardiology Technologist Association of Ontario Inc. and/or with The Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists or Canadian Society of Registered Respiratory Therapists
  • Two (2) years' experience in Holter setup, Holter Scanning, Exercise Stress Testing, and performing ECG's an asset.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to carry a full workload which includes routine ECGs, Graded Exercise Testing, Holter Monitoring
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently when necessary, and within a team environment at all times.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for professional development, attending in-service and Health Centre education sessions, attending workshops and seminars provided by the Cardiology Technologist Association of Ontario and improving skills by participating in ongoing educational programs
  • Satisfactory attendance record.

This contract is until January 2026.
