The Krembil Brain Institute at Toronto Western Hospital is home to one of the world's largest and most comprehensive multidisciplinary teams working hand-in-hand to prevent and confront problems of the brain and spine. One in three Canadians will experience a brain-related condition such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Epilepsy, Stroke or Concussion, in their lifetime.
The Neurovascular Unit (NVU) within the Krembil Brain Institute (KBI) program is the first of its kind in Canada. We champion a vision of right environment, for the right patient at the right time. It is a world-class care centre offering 44 in-patient beds including 20 High Acuity Level II beds for patients who require specialized interventions and monitoring. The Neurovascular Unit was designated as the District Stroke Centre for the West Toronto Region.
In 2017, NVU achieved stroke distinction from the Accreditation Canada for demonstrating national leadership, clinical excellence and commitment for continuous improvement of care for neurovascular patients.
Position Summary
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is a member of the inter-professional care team and is expected to maintain a collaborative and active working relationship with team members in the provision of patient care.
