Job Description

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week
Wage Range: $26.76 - $33.45 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Temporary Part-Time, 3 Months

Position Summary

As a Research Analyst supporting the Medical Director of Workplace Violence Prevention, you will play a vital role in advancing evidence-based strategies to reduce workplace violence across the organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research, data analysis, and program development, ensuring the safety and well-being of UHN's diverse workforce and patient population.

Duties

  • Collect, organize, and analyze data from workplace violence incident reports, audits, and related sources to identify trends and inform prevention strategies.
  • Develop and maintain electronic and paper-based data management systems for tracking incidents, interventions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of research materials, including reports, presentations, and publications, to support workplace violence prevention initiatives.
  • Coordinate data sharing and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to support cross-functional safety programs.
  • Support the implementation and evaluation of training programs, including TIDES 2.0 (Trauma-Informed De-escalation Safety and Self-Protection), through data collection and analysis.
  • Contribute to grant writing, literature reviews, and research proposals to secure funding for workplace violence prevention initiatives.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop metrics for assessing the effectiveness of safety interventions and recommend continuous improvements.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of a Bachelors degree in Psychology or Criminology or recognized equivalent required
  • A minimum of six months working experience in clinical crisis intervention, distress centre work or equivalent required
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational skills required
  • Experience with REDCap an asset
  • Strong self-directed learning skills - ability to work independently and with others will be considered an asset
  • Experience using common research databases such as PubMed and reference management software an asset
  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems is preferred
