Salary: $25.98 - $32.48 per hour: To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy
Shifts: Monday - Friday
Status: Temporary Part time (1 year)

Position Summary

The Hull Family Cardiac Fibrillation Research Lab is currently recruiting a Research Technician I. This will be a temporary, part-time position for the duration of one year with the possibility of extension based on performance and available funding. The successful candidate will participate in translational studies and data analysis relating to signal processing applied to cardiac electrophysiology.

Duties

  • Supporting active and incoming clinical research studies.
  • Processing electrical signal (ECG, egms, etc)
  • Support ongoing lab research activities
  • Generate data analysis & reports
  • Participate to lab meetings & manuscript preparation.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, BEng in electrical or biomedical engineering
  • At minimum, 6 months of practical and related experience is required
  • Experience of Microsoft Office and Matlab is required.
  • Experience in PowerShell and/or Python scripting is preferred
  • Working knowledge of a statistical program (SAS, SPSS, GraphPad, MiniTab) is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on simple to moderately complex tasks
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in a positive and productive manner
  • Ability to effectively deal with high priority unscheduled tasks and problems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment
