The Position

We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join the Communication, Learning and Behaviour service (CLB), working among a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This is a temporary part-time (0.6 FTE or 22.5 hours/week) position until April 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and consults with a multidisciplinary autism diagnostic assessment team using a client and family-centered approach
  • Provides screening, assessment, consultation, intervention, and counselling with children with language and social communication concerns and their families
  • Discusses assessment needs and goals with clients and families and adapts approach to their changing needs
  • Selects and uses standardized and non-standardized assessment tools and outcome measures as appropriate
  • Makes referrals to other services and agencies as appropriate
  • Maintains accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with Holland Bloorview and CASLPO guidelines
  • Maintains familiarity with current literature and implements an evidence-based approach to care
  • Participates in regular professional development to further refine clinical practice, and to ensure equitable and efficient service delivery for clients and families
  • Shares new knowledge and best practices with colleagues, students and other professionals within the organization, professional body and community
  • Provides supervision, mentoring, clinical education, and support for speech-language pathology students
  • Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Experience with providing assessment, consultation, and intervention with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Related clinical pediatric experience
  • Formal training and reliability with the ADOS-2 preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families and members of a multidisciplinary care team
  • Demonstrated flexibility in dealing with change
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
