About the role

We're looking for a talented and dynamic Senior Full Stack Software Developer - Java and TypeScript for our growing team!

What you'll do here:

  • Performs system and programming requirements analyses in order to identify noted problems and proposes solutions including programming specifications.

  • Under general supervision, develops system specifications, codes, changes, tests and debugs computer programs as assigned and within target time frames.

  • Masters the technical and business features of the system and is able to explain them to other colleagues.

  • Interacts effectively with users and has the ability to translate requirements into technical specifications/software components.

  • Ensures the design and modeling of programmatic solutions for complex problems in order to enable the realization of functional and non-functional documented requirements.

  • Reviews the design within the framework of deliverables (Quality of code and design).

  • Has the technological versatility and knowledge of the application to develop/support complex components.

  • Supports and guides the project team in development activities to ensure that quality code is delivered while respecting project timelines.

  • Test Automation Framework UI and BE development and maintenance.

  • Responsible for improving test automation framework (BE and FE) that are used for strategic systems. Identifies reusable modules and components within the application automation scripts.

  • Design, implement, document a data managment tool.

  • Defines branching strategy and performs code reviews.

  • Define proper gating and deployment mechanisms.

  • Build a strong relationship with the development and product teams to understand their tooling needs.

  • Bring ideas regarding test / code design.

  • Analys, document and integrate performance testing solutions.

  • Design monitoring solution for environment to bring visibility on related state

  • Design and implement dashboard with related development and quality metrics.

  • Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally and across teams.

  • Ability to quickly identify problems or bottlenecks in everyday processes and suggest improvements.

  • Ability to take initiative, innovate and experiment.

  • Experience in technical writing, identification, documentation, and communication.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's or College Degree Diploma in a field related to IT or any other combination of experience and related training deemed relevant.

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of development at an Insurance or Finance Company.

  • Strong knowledge of backend testing (Cucumber, Java, Postman).

  • Good knowledge of frontend testing (Cypress, typescript).

  • Experience in integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipeline.

  • Experience in Microservices and Backend Testing.

  • Knowledge of Git, CI/CD tools (i.e, Github Actions).

  • Experienced in creating Page Object Model.

  • Experienced in Java and Confluence.

  • Knows how to create high-quality test documentation.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Experience in Agile and Iterative process: Scrum.

  • Support the Development team Agile processes.

  • Strong knowledge in SDLC, brings in strategy, and analytical thinking.

  • Bilinguism required (French and English): Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
