Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period

Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician Ambulance $32.302 to $39.497

Job Description: The EMT-A will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT-A will cover standby assignment, as operations require.

Education

  • Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma (ACP)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
  • Intermediate Care Paramedic Certificate (ICP)

Other Education and Training

  • Pre-Hospital Care Program - Intermediate Care Paramedic (ICP) Level

Competencies

  • Basic - Communication skills
  • Basic - Interpersonal skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to establish working relationships with clients during times of distress
  • Ability to keep effective work relationships with clients of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work and communicate in a cross cultural setting
