The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), Regina Area invites applications for the positions of a physician with special training or competence in chronic pain and/or addictions management to provide services at the Regina Chronic Pain Clinic.
The Regina Chronic Pain Clinic is situated in Central Regina and is in close proximity with the Harm Reduction Clinic. The focus of the clinic is to treat patients suffering from Chronic Pain, and Chronic Pain Syndrome also focusing on opioid tapering, Opioid Agonist Therapy and multi-modal treatment. Current members of the team include Interventional specialists (5), Family physicians (2), LPNs (2), RPN, NPs (2) Pharmacist, Office Assistant, Office Coordinator and Manager. There are synergies being built with clinicians supporting psychiatry, physiotherapy, exercise therapy, social work support, community pharmacy, and traditional Indigenous healing support.
Direct engagement and support for the Chronic Pain Clinic and clinician education and mentorship is through collaboration and responsibility for the Saskatchewan Health Authorities Opioid Stewardship program. The SHA is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.
The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training and a number of distributed training sites in Regina and Saskatoon.
The candidate will hold certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) or from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Individuals with fellowship training in Pain Medicine will deserve preference. Successful applicants will be eligible for a regular license to practice in Saskatchewan from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
The successful candidate must be licensed by CPSS to practice and prescribe initiation and maintenance opioid agonist therapy for persons with opioid dependence or be eligible and willing to obtain such licensure.
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.

The successful applicant has the potential to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs in the Regina Area and may be appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan.Candidates who are able to fulfill a full FTE are desired but not a requirement. Candidates have the option to apply for a minimum of 0.2 FTE.
