Job Description: The Clinical Coordinator is an expert clinical nurse who integrates experience, advanced level skills and knowledge using nursing theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct patient care, assessment of client care needs, clinical coordination, clinical problem solving, client/patient/resident and staff education and participation in research for a defined group of clients/patients/residents. The Clinical Coordinator position requires skill in collaborative multidisciplinary consultation with managers, health care team members and physicians to provide seamless coordination of clinical planning, therapeutic activities and client/patient/resident interventions. A leadership role is provided in the areas of care, assessment, research and/or education. Other more specific responsibilities may include participating in policy and procedure development, performing quality improvement and administrative responsibilities and serving as a consultant to individuals and groups of health professionals within the region

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • Three (3) years charge nurse experience
  • Five (5) years' experience in Pediatrics
  • Metabolics experience is an asset

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
