Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Nursing, the Transport Nurse will: the Transport Nurse has responsibility for total patient care during inter and intra-hospital transport including complete physical assessment and performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as necessary. Attending caesarian sections and high risk deliveries, as backup for pediatric residents or as primary resuscitators as per NRP guidelines develops and maintains a quality improvement program for neonatal transport and transport advance practice nursing. Provides support and guidance to nurses and pediatric residents in the designated practice environment. Responsible for the assessment, establishment, maintenance, evaluation and updating the clinical standards of care for the Neonatal Transport Program. Assist NICU staff in delivery of nursing care when not involved in transport.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate (NRP)
  • Neonatal Transport Education Program
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
