Job Description: Under the direction of the Senior Psychologist of the Alvin Buckwold Child Development program the incumbent will provide psychological services to children from birth to 18 years of age, and to their families. He or she will work with interdisciplinary teams to provide assessment and intervention services to children who have or are at risk for developmental disabilities. The primary role of Psychologists within the centre is assessment and diagnosis. A lesser portion of time is spent in behavior consultation, education, and psychological intervention. The psychologist may also provide research and program evaluation services.

  • Experience working with children with developmental delays

Education

  • PhD in Clinical Psychology

Licenses

  • Registered Psychologist (RPsych)

Competencies

  • Advanced - Communication skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Knowledge of educational interventions for children within the classroom setting
  • Ability to test children with a variety of developmental disabilities
  • Ability to administer and interpret psychological tests
  • Ability to apply psychometric theory and knowledge of cognitive constructs
  • Ability to perceive broad scope of patient involvement in return to life roles

Other Information

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists
  • Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
  • Travel required
