This competition is to fill one (1) permanent, part-time position, working 60 hours bi-weekly.

JV Clark School is a k-12 school in the village of Mayo, Yukon. The school is located in the beautiful territorial lands of the Na Cho Nyak Dun First Nation. JV Clark has a student population of 56 students and a staff of 11. Our educators facilitate a caring environment for students and model life-long learning. As a school, we embrace a wholistic approach with students and the community we serve.

We are looking for a candidate who can confidently perform the duties of a forward-facing role while providing exceptional customer service to our school community. This position is responsible for greeting visitors, either in person or on the telephone, assisting with inquiries, completing teacher on-call call outs and maintaining employee and department directories. The School Administrative Assistant also plays an important role in supporting the school with all financial services, tracking, and support.

Essential Qualifications

  • Providing customer reception in a forward-facing role
  • Considerable experience with administrative tasks such as, tracking and data entry, photocopying, scanning and faxing, filing/records management, processing mail (including e-mail and sensitive mail)
  • Experience with accounts receivable and payable transactions including petty cash, trust accounts and grants including tracking of financial spending
  • Experience working with ASPEN, Archibus, Quicken, and PeopleSoft will be considered an asset
  • Experience creating and updating school schedules and managing the school website will be considered an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional information

Conditions of Employment:

  • RCMP Security Clearance, Vulnerable Sector
  • Standard First Aid (willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Job Requirements:

  • This position works onsite in a school environment
